Customers can now order the Surface Pro 6 and Surface Laptop 2. Microsoft has debuted its new hardware in ten countries. You can buy the devices if you live in: in Australia, Austria, Canada, China, Germany, Ireland, Japan, New Zealand, the United Kingdom and United States. Neither the Surface Pro 6 or Surface Laptop 2 change much in terms of design, although both are now available in black. Instead, Microsoft has updated what’s happening with these products on the inside. In terms of the Surface Pro 6, we are getting an update that was arguably much needed. Last year’s Surface Pro replaced the Surface Pro 4, but its lack of numbering tells us a lot. It was an incremental release that felt more like a Surface Pro 4.5 than a new model. Surface Pro 6 is a more seismic leap, at least in terms of specs. The device comes with Intel’s 8th generation Core CPU and a 267ppi screen. Elsewhere, the Pro 6 can be configured with up to 16GB of RAM and a 1TB SSD. Microsoft says it enhanced thermal control to allow the first implementation of a quad-core CPU. Weighing just 1.7 pounds, the Surface Pro 6 is sleek. However, Microsoft has still managed to get 13.5 hours of battery life from the 2-in-1. The entry level Pro 6 costs $899, which is the most affordable Surface Pro Microsoft has ever released.
Surface Laptop 2
As for the Surface Laptop 2, it has also been improved internally. Microsoft improved the display and keyboard to help users “stay in the flow”. The laptop also boasts an 85% performance increase of last year’s debut model. The Surface Laptop 2 is available starting at $999.
