The Anniversary Update was equally delayed by a few days on desktop and significantly longer for mobile. As a result, it wouldn’t be surprising if customers are skeptical about Microsoft’s commitments for this year. However, Director of Program Management Bill Karagounis confirmed at Ignite Austrailia this week that two updates are coming. Plenty is known about the first already. The Windows 10 Creators update is undergoing its finishing touches, with the final build expected in April. It will introduce a multitude of new features, including 3D paint, Windows Holographic, a re-designed action center, and more.
Redstone 3 Features
Redstone 3 is more of a mystery. However, it’s very likely the canceled People Bar will make an appearance, alongside Microsoft’s new, Neon design language. Reports also suggest ARM64 emulation for Windows Mobile, allowing for x86 apps with Continuum. Other than that, details have been sparse. Whatever the case, it’s good to see the Redmond giant on track. Rumors suggest the company has even begun brainstorming for Redstone 4, and the long, dedicated bug fixing periods suggest a stable Creators Update release.
